UNAC/UHCP PRNA bargaining team
stands up for a bully-free workplace
Our RN bargaining team met with Parkview management on Monday October 22 and reached a pair of tentative agreements including new contract language to combat bullying.
UNAC/UHCP-PRNA took a stand against bullying in the workplace by advancing contract language to create:
- a better reporting process that includes supervisors or Human Resources,
- timely investigation language and protection from retaliation, and,
- time paid for working on workplace violence committees.
“This will have a huge impact on our members,” said Sheila Lockwood, RN. “Too often are nurses are berated, belittled and then someone will flip the script and point the finger at the nurse. This is a great start for us to work together on a civil, respectful and bully-free environment.”
The team also reached a tentative agreement to protect RNs’ rights and access to leaves of absence.
The PRNA contract and all side letters are extended through December 31, 2018.
We expect progress with management to continue as we work through our proposals in the remaining sessions of the year.
Your continued attendance and involvement at negotiations is critical to our success!
