UNAC/UHCP’s Education Courses Are On-Demand in Septemeber

Sign up today! UNAC/UHCP’s Education Department is offering on-demand classes for continuing education units (CEUs). Courses are free and open to union members and nonmembers. Only for the month of September 2020, participants can simply:

  • Click on a link to a selected course
  • Watch the entire presentation
  • Fill out the evaluation at the end of the course

Once these steps are completed, the Education Department will process your CE certificate within 10 to 14 business days and notify you by email when complete.

 


On-Demand Courses:

Alzheimer’s Disease and the Related Dementias

 Course Description*
This 2-hour seminar will present the latest evidence on Alzheimer’s Disease and the related dementias. Topics include:

  • Dementia subtypes;
  • The importance of distinguishing a patient’s subtype, especially in the early stages of disease, when trying to understand and manage their behavioral and psychological symptoms;
  • Resources for managing symptoms;
  • What should be included in a comprehensive assessment for dementia; and
  • The latest biomarkers soon to be seen in clinical settings. Cognitive changes in normal aging and mild cognitive impairment will also be presented.

Social Determinants of Health and Health Disparities

  • Describe the relationship between Health Disparity and Health Equity;
  • Share the research that supports the cause; and
  • Determine our role in health care advocacy and achieving health equity.
