2023: A Banner Year for Our Union

It’s been a watershed year for UNAC/UHCP as the new executive leadership team steered our union on a bold course to address our greatest challenge: staffing shortages that threaten patient care and our well-being.

From our first all-membership survey, to a first-ever strike for St. Francis RNs, pushing for (and winning) extraordinary investments to rebuild the nursing workforce at a rapid pace, rallying in Sacramento to demand the legislature address the issue, and adding nearly 1,000 members with hundreds of additional advanced practice providers in the midst of joining, 2023 has been unlike any previous year our union has experienced.
