A union may not regulate the contents of campaign literature it is asked to distribute and may not require that it be permitted to read the literature before distribution. The union may not censor campaign literature in any way, even if the literature includes derogatory remarks about other candidates. A union’s contention that mailing certain campaign literature may constitute libel does not justify a refusal to distribute the literature since the union is under a legal duty to distribute the material.

Officer Candidate Statements

Faith Della Villa, RN
Candidate KDRNA Executive Council Representative

With 13 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Medsurg/Tele/Rehab, I have developed a deep understanding of the critical importance of patient safety ratios and appropriate patient assignments. My journey has been marked by significant contributions, including working on safe patient ratios while precepting new grads.
My roles as a UBT member, Shared Governance participant, Charge/Relief Nurse, Steward, and Contract Action Team member have equipped me to educate and empower my colleagues. I am dedicated to being a voice for those who are hesitant to speak up and to fostering transparency between management and staff. My involvement in KDRNA meetings has enhanced communication among inpatient charge nurses through platforms like GroupMe.

Despite not being in tele, I have advocated for no floats to DOU and no procedural sedations at bedside in Medsurg/Tele units. As our UNION contract approaches its expiration in October 2025, I remain committed to attending CAT meetings and sharing vital information with my colleagues.

If elected, I will strive to improve communication between members and management across all units at KP DMC. I will encourage more members to become stewards, reinforcing the belief that YOU ARE THE UNION and TOGETHER we stand FEARLESSLY UNITED.

Christina E Puinti, RN
Candidate KDRNA Executive Council Representative

I have been a proud union steward since joining Kaiser Downey in 2016, actively participating in union activities and advocating for workers’ rights for the past eight years. In 2022, I served as a contract specialist, gaining valuable experience in representations and contract enforcement. I currently serve as the Executive Council Representative, furthering my commitment to representing my colleagues and advancing our collective goals. Coming from a strong union family, where both my mother and father were dedicated union workers, I am deeply passionate about labor rights and solidarity. I look forward to being an asset in next year’s contract negotiations, ensuring that we secure the best possible outcomes for all workers.
