A union may not regulate the contents of campaign literature it is asked to distribute and may not require that it be permitted to read the literature before distribution. The union may not censor campaign literature in any way, even if the literature includes derogatory remarks about other candidates. A union’s contention that mailing certain campaign literature may constitute libel does not justify a refusal to distribute the literature since the union is under a legal duty to distribute the material.

Kimberly S Mullen, RN
Candidate KSBHPA President

Hi! Kim Mullen here!

I am a hard-working, Inpatient RN at Kaiser South Bay and have been for over 16 years. I am an Elected Officer with over a decade of service to you. I got involved in our union, because this is the way we can make true change in healthcare and this will secure our future for generations.

As an Officer, I lead our Staffing Campaign which won over 200 RN positions, so far (first affiliate to ever do so). I lead and plan Local Steward Trainings, community events and too many other initiatives to list.

I lead in Partnership and get much more accomplished this way by appealing to management’s rational minds with data and performance improvement. However, I have also organized us for strike, and have difficult conversations, when needed.

I fight for our members and fight for our patients!

I lead with strategy, integrity, thoughtfulness, passion and innovation. I am skilled at identifying the potential in new leaders, giving them opportunities to grow, gain confidence and be empowered. The more empowered members we have, the stronger we are.

I look to grow our union and strengthen our members, so together we can enforce our contract!
