National Hospital Week 2020

Winning For Patients – National Hospital Week

National Hospital Week feels a little different this year. While we’re still focused on patient care, the spotlight is firmly on those on the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this time, UNHCEH members are facing the most challenging days of our careers. We urge those who are experiencing understandable anxiety or other intense feelings as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to consider accessing the employee assistance program available through Kaiser Permanente (Employee Assistance Program: COVID-19 – How to Cope With the Uncertainty and Care for Yourself). If you need assistance dealing with hospital policies, please reach out to UNHCEH@unacuhcp.org with any questions or concerns. Now more than ever, we are a resource for you.

The latest temporary COVID-19-related benefit is available to both clinical and nonclinical employees actively working at our facilities or in other patient care environments. Part-time employees and per diem employees who work at least 20 hours per week are also eligible. This benefit includes up to 40 hours of additional paid time off for employees who received negative test results and had to remain off work. The hours provided by this program expire May 31, 2020. More information about this employee benefit is available on the Maui Health COVID-19 SharePoint page (Click here for more information on this benefit).

Happy National Hospital Week to all our members of UNHCEH and Maui Healthy System. Because of all of you and your commitment, we are able to deliver quality care to our patients and to meet each challenge head-on.
