LOS ANGELES —UNAC/UHCP President Denise Duncan, RN, issued the following statement on the Senate Republicans’ plan to vote on the motion to proceed to debate on the health care bill on Tuesday, July 25:

“The Senate Republicans are playing politics with Americans’ health care and the result can be deadly. Millions will lose health insurance if Medicaid funds are drastically cut. As a nurse, I know how important access to health care can be. A delay in diagnosis and treatment can destroy the remainder of a patient’s life—impacting wellness, recovery, quality of life and often the ability to remain employed. Patients and those who care for them deserve better.”
