Biographies are published exactly as received from each candidate and are uploaded in the order and format submitted. No adjustments are made to content, grammar, spelling, or structure, and no preferential treatment or favoritism is applied in the posting process. This ensures a fair, neutral, and transparent presentation of all candidate materials.

Raymond Cervenka
Raymond Anthony Cervenka is a dedicated Physician Assistant with over 30 years of clinical practice and more than 15 years of service with Kaiser Permanente. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to quality patient care, workplace fairness, and supporting the frontline healthcare professionals who keep the system moving.
As a proud UNAC member, Raymond understands the challenges facing healthcare workers, including staffing pressures, increasing workloads, workplace safety, and the need to protect fair wages, benefits, pensions, and professional respect.
As a delegate to the AFSCME Convention representing UNAC, Raymond would bring an experienced, practical, and member-focused voice. He is committed to solidarity, transparency, accountability, and strengthening the labor movement. He believes union power comes from informed members standing together and advocating for fair treatment, safe working conditions, and dignity for all workers.
Raymond would be honored to represent UNAC members and help advance AFSCME’s mission of fairness, justice, and respect for working people.
Alisa Medina
Honored to be elected as a delegate to the AFSCME Convention. I have proudly served as Secretary for KSDHCPA for 3.5years and have been a dedicated member of UNAC/UHCP for 19 years. I am passionate about advocating for healthcare professionals, strengthening union solidarity, and supporting the voices of frontline workers through leadership, service, and commitment to our members.
Rosalina Mendoza
I am a DNP student at Post University, specializing in Educational Leadership, passionate about advancing nursing practice, education, and research. I serve as an RN at Kaiser for more than 14 years and currently a Charge Nurse with over 20 years of acute care clinical experience. Dedication to nursing excellence and leadership was recognized through the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in 2010 and selection as the 2019 Southern California Nursing Research Resident.
I actively support EBP and nursing research through involvement with Kaiser SCAL Nursing Research Committee and co-chair responsibilities within the local Medical Center Nursing Research Council. I also serve as a Clinical Instructor at West Coast University, mentoring nursing students and supporting professional development.
As a researcher/author, I contributed to workforce- and practice-focused studies on compassion fatigue, resilience, bullying, and professional peer feedback. Scholarly efforts resulted in peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and volunteer service reviewing nursing research proposals and educational programs to advance nursing scholarship and professional growth.
Debra Sung
Hi. I’m Debra Sung and I would be honored to represent UNAC/UHCP members at the AFSCME Convention. I have been involved in many union roles over the past 13 years, Affiliate Officer, Staff Representative and now a Director of Representation. This has given me the opportunity to support our current members, as well as help organize new members and assist them in bargaining for the needs of their membership. I am passionate about people coming together and communicating to resolve issues and improve lives. Please vote for me as one of your representatives for the AFSCME Convention.
Matthew Piskura
Aloha, I am a physical therapist on Oahu and have served as President of the United Therapists of Hawaii chapter of UNAC/UHCP for the past five years. Throughout my time in union leadership, I have taken part in opportunities to learn, collaborate, and support our members and profession. I also participated as a CIC member in Alliance national bargaining with Kaiser during the most recent bargaining cycle.
I value the labor movement and the opportunity to connect with union leaders from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. I hope to gain a broader understanding of how larger labor organizations function so I can continue to grow as a leader and share that knowledge with others. -Mahalo Matt.
Douglas Wong
Douglas Wong, PA-C, has been a UNAC/UHCP member for over ten years, serves as Clinic President for the Riverside Registered Nurses United Health Care Professionals affiliate. He is Chairperson of the Judicial Panel of UNAC/UHCP, recently served as a Blue Book and Advanced Practice Provider Subgroup Bargaining Team Member for the 2025 Kaiser Permanente-UNAC/UHCP Bargaining and as the National Common Issues Committee Blue Book Representative. He has served as an AFSCME Convention Delegate in 2024, AFSCME Convention Special Guest Speaker in 2022, and NUHHCE Convention Delegate 2023 and UNAC/UHCP Convention Delegate 2022, 2024.
He is proud to serve and would be proud to continue to serve the needs of all those in Health Care, Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Providers, and all Workers in our Communities.
Nathan Poliakoff
Nathan Poliakoff is an Emergency Room Registered Nurse from San Diego, California and serves as Clinic President for KSDHCPA.
After entering healthcare in 2017, he became active in union work through his interest in patient care issues, workplace advocacy, and member representation. He has held leadership roles within the union since 2022 and was elected Clinic President in 2023.
In his role, Nathan works with members across the affiliate on workplace issues, representation, and communication while continuing to work in the emergency room.
Linda Morales
Hello my name is Linda Morales, I currently serve as a UNAC/UHCP Board Director, Vice President for our National Union of Hospital and Health Care
Employees(NUHHCE) and I work at Baldwin Park as a Charge Nurse.Throughout my union journey I have been committed to advocating for healthcare professionals and strengthening member engagement. Most of all I have enjoyed uplifting the voices of frontline workers. I have proudly served in many leadership and service roles, including Affiliate President and Treasurer, Volunteer Member Organizer, Organizer, Member Engagement Representative, Financial Control Committee, National Bargaining representative in 2010 and Election Chair for the 2024UNAC/UHCP Convention. Currently I serve on the Branding Committee and Strategic Planning Committee.
UNAC/UHCP has given me the opportunity to stand with dedicated healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds and specialties who share a common purpose: protecting our patients and building a stronger future for all healthcare workers.
