Bio – Margaret Meyer

I’m Margaret, but most of my colleagues call me “Midge.” I’m a proud working mom, union steward, and health and safety champion for our inpatient rehab UBT! I’ve been an OT at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua since 2020, and I hold certifications as a dementia practitioner and stroke specialist. Growing up, my dad was VP for his corrections union under AFSCME. My activism stems from his unwavering dedication to upholding members’ rights. I believe in shared responsibility for the welfare of our communities and have spent time volunteering for Special Olympics, the Honolulu Marathon, Paepae o He‘eia (Fishpond), and IHS.
I hope to be elected VP for UTH to foster an open-door policy and be available to members’ needs, suggestions, and priorities. Our union’s collective strength and solidarity depend on it! I look forward to the opportunity to serve our members in a leadership role and promise to foster effective communication while being an unwavering advocate for workplace safety and rights, livable wages, and quality benefits.
