Bio – Ruben Torres

I am honored to be nominated for the position of Steward Coordinator B. I have been a proud member of UTNC since the ratification of our original contract in 2021, and I currently work as an outpatient physical therapist at Santa Rosa.

My involvement with our union began during the organizing efforts leading up to ratification. I vividly remember the many evening meetings with our organizing team, and from that moment on, I knew UNAC/UHCP was the right union for us. After ratification, I proudly took the oath to become a steward and quickly after stepped into the role of co-lead for our local workload committee. Later, I was appointed to be a labor representative in the RPG steering committee. In 2025, I was selected as a contract specialist—an experience that has allowed me to empower members and, most importantly, build connections across the region.

If elected, my priorities will be to help implement our new contract once ratified, strengthen communication among stewards across the region, and advocate for the needs of therapists at every level.

I am grateful for this nomination and look forward to the opportunity to continue serving and supporting our union.
