Kaiser Campaign: Community Support

We are grateful for your solidarity as we work toward a fair contract.

Lawmakers and Community Leaders Continue to Show Support for Our Kaiser Campaign

Lawmakers have joined our UNAC/UHCP caregivers on the ground to center their stories and directly drive real-time accountability from Kaiser management. Our RNs and health care professionals have shared their experiences with unsafe staffing, delayed care, missed breaks, and staff turnover.

2026 Strike Support: Thank You for Standing With Us

More than 31,000 UNAC/UHCP members employed by Kaiser Permanente went on strike at 7 a.m. January 26, 2026. Health professionals face unsafe staffing and wages that fail to keep pace with the rising cost of living, threats to both caregivers and the quality of care patients receive.

Meanwhile, Kaiser now holds $70 billion in reserves — much of it built during the COVID-19 pandemic when frontline workers sacrificed their health and lives. Instead of investing in its workforce, Kaiser pours money into expansion projects in other states, while current patients face longer waits for appointments, treatment, and recovery.

What UNAC/UHCP Health Care Professionals Went on Strike For

  • Safe Staffing: A demand to uphold contractual nurse-to-patient staffing ratios and to implement staffing plans based on real patient needs
  • Fair Pay: Pay that reflects the rising costs of housing, food, and health care
  • Retirement Security: Pensions and retirement dignity after decades of demanding work
