Humans of UNAC/UHCP: Jennifer Wolfe, RN
Memorial Day is a sacred reminder.
“Memorial Day stands as a sacred reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion of the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.
As a Veteran, nurse, and union officer I am confident that the men and women in our affiliate come to work everyday, ready to make an attempt to pay the debt of our nation to those that served and did not return.
These staff understand, on a deep level, that this day is not only about remembrance, but also about responsibility — to honor their legacy through continued service, unity, and advocacy for those who wear, and have worn, the uniform.
My colleagues and I often pause to reflect on the freedoms secured by their sacrifice and recommit ourselves to supporting our military, Veterans, families, and communities with the same spirit of dedication and selflessness they embodied.
To those that that were buried during my service, to those I have been at their bedside during their passing, to those that I have escorted on so many honor walks, and held their grieving families– you are not forgotten.”
