What is Bargaining?

Collective bargaining gives health care workers a way to speak with one voice.  Collective bargaining helps make workplaces safer, make sure workers are paid fairly, and set clear rules that help both staff and patients by letting people work together to solve problems.

In negotiations with employers, we cover a wide range of important issues:

  • Wages and benefits that help us attract, retain, and respect healthcare professionals
  • Working conditions that create manageable workloads and access to the resources we need
  • Health and safety measures to keep patients and workers safe
  • Professional development opportunities to keep learning and reaching our career goals’
  • Job security that protects us from being fired unfairly and making sure that fair discipline procedures are followed.
